Aim of course

Communication with clients mostly goes by the principle “the stronger wins”. This is a way of achieving goals quickly, but if the partner feels he/she got the worst of it the long term relationship of the parties might suffer, one can even loose the client. Assertive communication is a special method of pursuing interests, it solves the problem by taking into account the interests and emotions of the other party. The aim of the course is to establish and reinforce this mindset. Moreover, it is not enough to be assertive on the level of words, body language is also part of it. The use of assertive techniques is acquired in situation exercises based on typical workplace situations.

Expected results

Participants understand and practice pursuing their interests in ways benefiting the relationship rather than hurting it. By using assertive means (both in words and body language) they become capable of controlling the outcome of interactions in an active and conscious manner. This enhances efficiency and results in more productive work.

Praising and criticizing. Communicating with angry people. How to say no and how to get to yes? Assertivity step by step. When should one be assertive? Working out a Personal Development Plan. 

The training takes 2 day, max. group size is 12 people. A pre-training CQ Test is required.
After the training, we provide participants with 3 occasions of SMS-based follow-up. (In the 1st quarter of 2017 this is free of charge.)
